A Glorious and Incredibly Happy 2018 to All!

Happy New Year

The close of 2017 finds me with a bad back, an ominous sniffle and a feeling of overwhelming exhaustion but still feeling great about all the changes that the year has brought Alexandra May Jewellery.

I was aware that at the end of 2016 I was risking all by taking my beloved business of 20 years and stripping it down and reinventing it, but it has been so, so worth it.

Shop 2017

I myself and the girls at Alexandra May have proved that following your passion is a worthy leap of faith, and I'm thrilled with the new look and vibe of my business.

We have managed to simultaneously delight our original treasured customers and welcome many new people to our 'Sparkle-nista Society'!

I have had more time to focus on my website, the creation of mandalas from my photos of the shop's jewellery (one of which was on the cover of the 20th-anniversary edition of Bath Life magazine!) and sourcing fantastic new designers.

Darcy Bussell and Lady Gaga proved to be a huge Konplott fans, Rita Ora loved Simon Harrison's work and the jewellery trends for 2018 are maximilist...which we are so ready for!

Darcey Bessell

I had my first ever 'event' to launch Simon Harrison's jewellery, whose designs still makes my heart sing whenever I see them, and he is such a delightful man that it is always a pleasure to deal with him and his team!

We also had a staff outing to Simon and his team's workshop in the Borough in London which was great fun and gave us an insight into every level of their creation process (as well as envy of 3D printers and the benefits of working in close proximity to some of the Borough's fabulous food shops).

I've made trips to Italy and Asia that of course deviated from 'just' being a holiday to becoming a discovery mission for new stock. Aside from beautiful silk scarves and fans from Indonesia and glamorous jewelled coloured drinking glasses for staff and customers to tipple from, I've found the most divine jewellery that will be added to my glorious stock in the early stages of 2018 ( details to come! )

A busy and change-filled year where I've so appreciated the support of you, my wonderful customers who have joined me on my journey through the land of twinkle and shine. Huge love to you all and may you all experience an incredibly happy 2018!
